(MIAMI) May 30, 2013 - On Friday, May 17th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami and the Lowenstein Family hosted the 8th annual Big Impact Breakfast at the Ritz Carlton South Beach. Over 350 people attended the "friendraiser" event to learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami and the life-changing impact of its mentoring programs.
Daymond John, CEO of FUBU and one of the stars of ABC's hit show "Shark Tank" served as the keynote speaker and talked about his success. "FUBU, Shark Tank, my success, wouldn't have happened if I didn't have mentors like those in the room today." The 1-hour program opened with Little Sister Cashe and Big Sister Kelsey, who spoke about their one year match, and closed with a 44 year match, Little Brother Richard and Big Brother Robert who shared their story of their life-long friendship.
Local notables united to celebrate the magic of mentoring included: Chair Rita Ramirez; Gisela and Diego Lowenstein, Bill Jones, Captain Manuel Arrebola, and Hon. Brownwyn Miller.
