Scholarship Programs

About The Scholarship Program

In 2008, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami together with The Five Millers Foundation established the Continuing Education & Scholarship Program. The scholarship program provides financial assistance through scholarships, trainings, workshops, test prep classes and coaching sessions to our youth and their families. These services help to prepare for life after high school. Scholarships are awarded to those students who successfully complete the program and commit to continuing their education.

Eligibility

All students enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program are eligible to apply for the Five Millers Scholarship program. Scholarships are awarded to those who have been accepted in vocational or technical programs, 2-year Colleges and 4-year Universities. Scholarship winners are selected by an Advisory Council comprised of community business leaders, supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters and Women’s Committee Members.

Five Millers Big Brothers Big Sisters Scholarships – Testimonials

“By awarding me the Five Millers Scholarship, you have greatly lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school: learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.” – Little Brother Ricardo

“This scholarship will empower me and further allow me to pursue my aspirations and dreams. Going to school seemed close to impossible due to my economic status. Now, I will follow my passion and I thank you with all my heart.” – Little Sister Maria

“Beyond what we have gained during this experience, we know the Big Brothers Big Sisters program is a new family. Their support, as well as the Five Millers Foundation, continuously reminds me that I’m not alone and encourages my objective of becoming a cardiologist. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart!” – Little Sister Claritza
