Just 4 hours per month of local employees' time (during the school year) means that more kids are inspired to know who they want to become, more kids will find a purpose to motivate their academic performance (and graduation), and more kids will be empowered and qualified to ultimately meet the needs of Miami's employers.
What Does It Take?
Your Company: In addition to a minimum of 10 mentors ("Bigs"), your company is asked to provide recruitment opportunities, meeting space for the matches, lunch, and a mentoring program liaison, as well as sponsoring the cost of student transportation.
A Local High School: We work with Miami-Dade County Public High Schools' guidance counselors, teachers, principals and parents, focusing on the kids who can most benefit from a mentor. We serve students challenged by social and economic circumstances beyond their control.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami: We collaborate to customize the program to fit your company's needs. We apply our proven system to recruit, screen, match and coach mentoring relationships through graduation day.
