School-To-Work (Employer-Based)

The School-to-Work program is our workplace-based 1:1 mentoring program. Through a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, Magic City-based organizations give back to our community by hosting youth from a nearby high school at their office or workplace.

Just 4 hours per month of local employees' time (during the school year) means that more kids are inspired to know who they want to become, more kids will find a purpose to motivate their academic performance (and graduation), and more kids will be empowered and qualified to ultimately meet the needs of Miami's employers.

What Does It Take?

Your Company:
In addition to a minimum of 10 mentors ("Bigs"), your company is asked to provide recruitment opportunities, meeting space for the matches, lunch, and a mentoring program liaison, as well as sponsoring the cost of student transportation.

A Local High School:
We work with Miami-Dade County Public High Schools' guidance counselors, teachers, principals and parents, focusing on the kids who can most benefit from a mentor. We serve students  challenged by social and economic circumstances beyond their control.
